CNBC's Stock Pops & Drops From September 23

Share:

On CNBC's Stock Pops & Drops, Guy Adami talked about a 1.66 percent increase in price for Peabody Energy Corporation (NYSE: BTU).

The stock bounced after the company boosted its third quarter guidance. Adami thinks that the whole space is under pressure and there are better stocks to buy at the moment. He would stay away from the stock.

Brian Kelly commented on a 1.84 percent move lower in Dicks Sporting Goods Inc (NYSE: DKS) on Tuesday. It got hurt by the downgrade from William Blair & Co. Kelly said that he doesn't like the stock at the moment, but if it drops to $42, he might get excited.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ: FB) gained 1.94 percent on Tuesday and Dan Nathan thinks that the announcement of a new advertising platform is great for the stock.

Karen Finerman is not optimistic on Walter Energy, Inc. (NYSE: WLT), despite the 3.31 percent increase in price on Tuesday. She explained that for companies like this one she always takes a look where debt is trading and Walter Energy, Inc.'s debt is yielding 30 percent, which is not very optimistic for the future of the company.
