Jeff Weiner, the CEO of professional social network site LinkedIn LNKD, appeared on CNBC Friday morning, and stated that mobile ads do not eat into the site's revenue stream.
Addressing the question of why there is a disconnect between his businesses growth and the amount of customers it is attracting, Weiner said that 62 percent of the company's business comes from overseas. "Asia-Pacific is our fastest growing region," he said. "In terms of the the dynamic, people turn to LinkedIn when the economy is difficult."
Weiner was also asked who he fears, who is LinkedIn's closest competitor. "I think we're unique," he said. "We play our own game."
On Friday, LinkedIn traded at about $105, up roughly 12 percent.
