Lean Hog Futures Higher

February lean hogs are trading at 65.22, up 0.65 cents/lb. April lean hogs are trading at 68.25, up 0.27 cents/lb. June lean hogs are trading at 76.82, up 0.25 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading a little higher just after the open. Wednesday's USDA hog slaughter was 441,000 head the today for the week is now 886,000 head, versus 890,000 last week. The average weights as of December 31st were 282.1 pounds, up from 279.2 the previous week.
