Lean Hog Futures Higher

February lean hogs are trading at 58.25, up 0.77 cents/lb. April lean hogs are trading at 64.45, up 0.82 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading higher just after the open. Trading is active. Market talk about some producer selling a little above current prices is showing up for April and June contracts. Tuesday's USDA hog slaughter was 438,000 head. The total for the week is now 875,000 head versus 880,000 head a year ago.
