U.S. Dollar Index Little Higher, Unemployment Rate Falls

The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 101.15, up 0.05. The U.S. Dollar Index is trading choppy. Market chatter about global headline news and U.S. payroll data is making the rounds. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that November unemployment fell to 4.6 percent versus 4.9 percent in October. The agency data showed 178,00 jobs were created versus 142,000 in October. The participation rate was 62.7 percent versus 62.8 percent in October. Average hourly earnings dipped 0.1 percent versus a rise of 0.4 percent in October.
