Live Cattle Futures Move Down

December live cattle is trading at 110.25, down 0.47 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 111.55, down 0.67 cents/lb. April live cattle is trading at 111.12, down 0.45 cents/lb. Live cattle futures have moved down just after the open. Chatter about cash prices and consumer demand is making the rounds. Friday's USDA cattle slaughter was 114,000 head and Saturday's was 88,000 head. The total for last week was 551,000 head versus 458,000 head a year ago. Trading is expected to be very choppy.
