U.S. Dollar Index Little Higher, Core PPI Edges Down

The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 100.32, up 0.07. The U.S. dollar index is trading rangebound after setting new contract highs earlier in the day. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that year over year core producer prices (PPI) were up 1.2 percent in October, the same as September. On the month core PPI fell 0.2 percent versus a 0.2 percent rise in September. Producer prices (PPI) year over year in October rose 0.8 percent after a showing a rise of 0.7 percent in September. On the month PPI was flat versus a rise of 0.3 percent in September.
