Live Cattle Futures Little Lower

December live cattle is trading at 104.00, down 0.35 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 104.60, down 0.32 cents/lb. April live cattle is trading at 103.87, down 0.37 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are trading modestly choppy just after the open. Market talk about consumer demand and cash prices is making the rounds. Last week the USDA slaughter was 613,000 head, up 10.5 percent versus a year ago. U.S. beef production was 515.6 million pounds, up 10 percent from a year ago and cattle weights were 1383 pounds versus 1378 pounds last week.
