U.S. Dollar Index Extends Losses Ahead of Data and Yellen

The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 97.58, down 0.37. The U.S. Dollar Index is trading choppy and at the lows of the day. Chatter about U.S. economic data due out Friday is starting to make the rounds. The Census Bureau's monthly report on U.S. retail sales is due out 8:30 a.m. ET, and business inventories is due out at 10:00 a.m. ET. The Bureau of Labor Statistics is scheduled to release producer price (PPI) data at 8:30 a.m. ET. The University of Michigan consumer confidence survey is due out at 10:00 a.m. ET. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen is scheduled to speak before a conference hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston around 1:30 p.m. ET. Chair Yellen's speech will be focused on "Macroeconomic Research After the Crisis".
