Live Cattle Futures Trading Higher

October live cattle is trading at 105.10, up 0.70 cents/lb. December live cattle is trading at 105.60, up 0.20 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 105.75, up 0.20 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are trading higher just after the open. Market chatter about cash prices and consumer demand is making the rounds. Friday's USDA cattle slaughter was 114,000 head and Saturday's was 70,000 head. The total for the week was 528,000 head, down from 610,000 head the previous week and up from 501,000 head a year ago.
