Lean Hog Futures Little Changed

October lean hogs are trading at 60.60, down 0.07 cents /lb. December lean hogs are trading at 56.45, down 0.07 cents/lb. February lean hogs are trading at 61.12, down 0.15 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading steady just after the open Wednesday. Tuesday's USDA estimated hog slaughter was 435,000 head. The total for the week is now 870,000 head, up from 858,000 a week ago and up from 856,000 a year ago at this time. Trading is expected to be choppy.
