Lean Hog Futures Little Lower

October lean hogs are trading at 59.50, down 0.35 cents /lb. December lean hogs are trading at 55.00, down 0.45 cents/lb. February lean hogs are trading at 59.75, down 0.37 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading choppy and a little lower after Tuesday's wide ranged session. Market chatter about cash prices and consumer demand ahead is making the rounds. Tuesday's USDA estimated hog slaughter was 433,000 head. The total for the week so far is 858,000 head versus 867,000 head last week at this time and 843,000 head a year ago. Trading is expected to remain very choppy.
