Cotton Futures Little Lower

December New York Cotton is trading at 74.02, down 0.36 cents/lb. March New York Cotton is trading at 74.06, down 0.36 cents/lb. Cotton futures are trading a little lower Tuesday morning. Market chatter about U.S. weather and the condition of the U.S. cotton crop is making the rounds. The USDA weekly cotton crop conditions report showed 50 percent of the crop was rated good to excellent versus 52 percent last week and 57 percent a year ago. The ten year average at this time of year is 48 percent. The report showed 15 percent of the crop was rated poor to very poor versus 13 percent a week ago and 10 percent a year ago. The ten year average at this time of year is 21 percent.
