The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported that new motor vehicle sales rose 3.1 percent in June versus a decline of 1.0 percent in May. The increase in sales was seen in all categories. Passenger vehicle sales rose 6.3 percent, other vehicles rose 1.4 percent and sport utility vehicles rose 0.5 percent. Year over year motor vehicle sales rose 2.1 percent versus a year over year rise of 1.8 percent in May.
Chatter about regional growth is starting to show up. China's National Bureau of Statistics is scheduled to release gross domestic product (GDP) this evening.
