Chatter remains about quarterly grindings numbers due out Thursday and that has helped to keep selling pressure in the market. Estimates are wide and traders expect anywhere from a 4 percent decline to a 2 percent increase from last year. Chatter is that trading will be choppy. Chatter about weak global economic conditions are keeping traders defensive, especially worries about European demand. Market talk continues about tight supply helps support the market on decline. All U.S. exchanges are closed on Monday in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King's Birthday. Investors should expect pre-holiday markets to begin late Thursday.
