New York Soft Commodities Market Recap
March Cocoa closed slightly higher on Friday, and was down on the week during a quiet trading session following Thursday's sharp decline.
March coffee closed 240 lower on the day, and was down on the week to the lowest prices since mid-July.
Continuing Vietnamese harvest and the weak Brazilian Currency (Real) pressured the coffee market.
Sugar closed lower on the session and was down on the week, near contract lows.
One issue pressuring sugar on Friday: The possibility that lower crude oil prices will push sugar mills to switch away from using sugar cane for ethanol, instead using it for sugar production.
