Boeing Pauses South Carolina Operations Due To Hurricane Idalia: Report

Boeing Co BA had reportedly paused its operations in South Carolina in the event of Hurricane Idalia.

The aircraft maker issued a directive asking second and third-shift workers not to report to work on Wednesday, according to a report from Reuters.

However, it said all operations will resume beginning at 8 a.m. today.

Boeing manufactures the wide-bodied Dreamliner at its plant in North Charleston and makes 787 interiors and engine nacelles for its jetliners in another campus at Ladson.

"We will continue to assess the storm's impact to employees and our operations," the report quoted a spokesperson for the company.

Earlier on Tuesday, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster issued a state of emergency for the state in preparation for the potential effects of the storm.

Price Action: BA shares closed higher by 0.70% at $228.85 on Wednesday.
