Icahn Wants Four Seats On Genzyme (GENZ) Board

Billionaire investor Carl Icahn informed troubled biotechnology company Genzyme Corporation (Nasdaq: GENZ) that he intends to nominate himself and three other to four of the company's nine board of directors.

Genzyme Corporation has been under pressure because of drug shortages caused by the closure of a key manufacturing plant in Boston.

Icahn and his associates have acquired 4.8 million shares of Genzyme Corporation.

Besides himself, Icahn's other nominees for the board are Alexander Denner, Steven Burakoff and Richard Mulligan.
