'Cannabis Helps People' Says Stevie Van Zandt Announcing His Silvio's Stash Brand Debut In Michigan

  • Stevie Van Zandt’s Silvio's Stash debuts in Michigan in collaboration with Calvin Johnson Jr. and Rob Sims’ Primitiv.
  • The initial release is limited to only 5,000 units that will be sold at Primitiv and select retailers.
  • TURF, the sibling brand of Primitiv will be available soon with all-new packaging inspired by the iconic Nintendo game Tecmo Bowl.

The Sopranos actor and founding member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, Stevie Van Zandt, is bringing his cannabis brand, Silvio’s Stash, to the Michigan market in collaboration with Calvin Johnson Jr. and Rob Sims' Primitiv, a cannabis company focused on elevated wellness. Van Zandt co-starred in all seven seasons of The Sopranos as Silvio Dante, Tony Soprano’s loyal consigliere.

“We try to make products that are useful and that can help people," Van Zandt stated. "Cannabis helps people. It helps people with pain, it helps with stress, it helps them sleep. It's ridiculous that marijuana continues to be illegal in some states. We need to help spread cannabis education, destigmatization, and stop unjust criminalization for a plant that not only does a lot of good, but has proven to be essential to people's well-being and quality of life.”

Silvio’s Stash, curated by Little Steven's Underground Bazaar, will debut with a collection of five .5 gram pre-rolled joints, elegantly packaged in a collectable tin. The brand's initial Michigan release comes in a limited-edition collectible tin limited to only 5,000 units.  Silvio's Stash will be available at Primitiv Niles and other select dispensaries throughout Michigan including Puff, Quest, House of Dank, Greenhouse, Pure Options and more.

"Michigan! Silvio's Stash powered by Primitiv coming to a dispensary near you! Be on the lookout for this limited edition first run,"  Van Zandt wrote Tuesday in an Instagram post

The collaboration with Primitiv, founded by former Detriot Lion teammates Johnson and Sims further enhances Silvio’s Stash’s commitment to quality and innovation in the cannabis industry. It also represents its debut into the thriving Michigan marketplace.

"Primitiv’s dedication to crafting premium products aligns seamlessly with Silvio’s Stash’s mission to deliver exceptional cannabis experiences to consumers all while educating more people about the power of the plant," stated Johnson, a 2021 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Sims added, "Thanks to our time playing in the NFL, Calvin and I have been afforded a stage to help tell our story about removing the stigma from the cannabis plant, and being able to collaborate with someone as incredibly influential and talented as Stevie provides us with an even larger stage to speak from."

Meanwhile, TURF, the sibling brand of Primitiv, is set to hit the playing field with a variety of premium indoor cultivated pre-packed 1/8ths and prerolls, featuring all-new packaging inspired by the iconic Nintendo game, Tecmo Bowl. The packaging design embraces Tecmo Bowl’s vibrant 8-bit graphics and gameplay, adding a splash of fun for both cannabis connoisseurs and gaming enthusiasts alike. TURF 1/8th pre packs and multi-pack prerolls will be available soon.

"Being former NFL players and video game enthusiasts, we wanted to think of an eye-catching way to spotlight our new TURF products," stated Johnson. "Since Tecmo Bowl celebrated its 35th anniversary earlier this year, bringing that into the mix just made a lot of sense for us."

TURF flower products were grown in Primitiv's Webberville-based indoor cultivation center, and feature popular strains including Key Lime Thai, Blueberry Muffin, Gary Payton, Sour Punch, Point Break and Bremix.
