Diplo recently ran the Los Angeles Marathon in a solid 3 hours and 35 minutes — after taking LSD.
In a video, the DJ and music producer (whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz) prepared an LSD+water mix for the race, using five drops of the psychedelic concentrate.
Low doses of LSD are said to boost mood, sensory perception and energy. However, no scientific evidence backs that taking psychedelics actually helps to perform better at athletic tasks.
Nonetheless, we do count on several first-person testimonies by people the size of Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers quarterback, who credited his “best season” to taking ayahuasca.
Former UFC and Strikeforce star Luke Rockhold takes psilocybin to both relax and train. He has also struggled with alcohol consumption, which is a condition magic mushrooms are aiming to treat.

Prince Harry has also acknowledged ayahuasca’s help in his healing journey.
While psychedelics keep advancing the corresponding clinical trials towards obtaining a legal status allowing the general population with mental health conditions to use them as a treatment option, a reminder should be set in the fact that virtually all psychedelics hold short-term side effects (i.e., increased heart rate and blood pressure, dizziness or a general feeling of weakness).
