Benzinga Mid-Day Market Update

At the midday on Tuesday, the Dow was up about 0.71 percent, or roughly 94.23 points. The NASDAQ also rose, up about 0.42 percent, or about 13.12 points. The S&P was on the rise as well, trading up 0.56 percent, increasing 8.07 points. The Euro/U.S. Dollar pair traded up 0.83 percent to $1.286, while the U.S. Dollar/Japanese Yen was down 0.695percent, trading around $77.77. Another pair on the rise was the Pound British Sterling/ U.S. Dollar pair, which traded up 0.60 percent to $1.6082. In commodities news, gold traded around $1,731.15, up about $2.23, while silver traded around $33.51, down about $0.06. Crude Oil traded up about $0.51 to about $97.05 while natural gas rose $0.156 to $2.968. U.S. three-month treasury bonds fell 0.005 percent, while three-year rose 0.005 percent, and ten-year climbed 0.040 percent. Apple AAPL will be hosting the announcement of its iPhone 5 tomorrow at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. Facebook's FB Chief Executive officer Mark Zuckerberg will speak later today at Techcrunch Disrupt.
