Kicking off the year, Microsoft Corp. MSFT launched 2024 Xbox Developer Direct, showcasing key announcements such as the release date for Hellblade 2 and the official introduction of Machine Games' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

In contrast to the previous January's Developer Direct, which included the unexpected release of Tango Gameworks' Hi-Fi Rush, this edition did not feature any surprise launches.

1. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II (Release Date: May 21, 2024): Ninja Theory's long-awaited sequel finally received a release date after over four years after its initial announcement. The new trailer showcased enhanced visuals, including complex motion capture, brutal combat, and improved audio design.

2. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (Release Date: TBD 2024): Machine Games presented the first look at its Indiana Jones game, titled Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The game seamlessly blends first-person perspective with third-person environmental traversal and cutscenes, featuring iconic puzzle-solving, whip combat, and rope-swinging action.

3. Avowed (Release Window: Fall 2024): Obsidian Entertainment provided a deep dive into its upcoming RPG set in the Pillars of Eternity universe. Avowed's combat mechanics were showcased, featuring weapons like one-handed wands, dual-wield pistols and swords.
