Microsoft Corp.‘s MSFT Bethesda just announced the release date for the highly anticipated Fallout 4 next-gen update, hot on the heels of the successful debut of the “Fallout” TV series.

Set to launch on April 25, this free upgrade will be available for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, bringing native applications, Performance and Quality mode options, and various stability improvements, allowing for smoother gameplay at up to 60 frames per second with better resolution.

In addition to the console updates, Bethesda is rolling out a free update for Fallout 4 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, addressing stability issues, login problems, and quest bugs.

PC players will also receive some love with widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, along with fixes for the Creation Kit and various quest enhancements. Moreover, the game will now be available on the Epic Games Store and verified for the Steam Deck.

But that’s not all.

The update comes packed with new content, including the Enclave Remnants questline, which introduces The Enclave to the Commonwealth and tasks players with stopping their expansion.

Alongside this, players can enjoy additional Creation Club items like Enclave Weapon and Armor Skins, the Tesla Cannon and more.

Another exciting addition is the Makeshift Weapon Pack, featuring unconventional weapons like a baseball launcher and even a piggy bank-turned-weapon. And for those who love spooky vibes, the Halloween Workshop brings 38 new decorations for settlements, perfect for keeping the Halloween spirit alive all year round.

Since its launch in 2015, Fallout 4 has remained a fan favorite, raking in $750 million in revenue and maintaining a dedicated player base, thanks in part to its thriving modding community.
