VC's Shaping The Face Of Fintech

There is plenty of room for investment in startups this year. According to the National Venture Capitalist Association, U.S. venture capital firms raised $12B for funds during the first quarter of 2016, a 59 percent increase by dollar commitments from the first quarter of 2015.

In April, IA Ventures, a VC firm that invests in seed and early stage venture investments, partnered with other VCs to invest $36M to MemSQL, a memory database platform.

According to Vator TV, IA Ventures Fund III closed at $160M in summer 2015. On average, IA Ventures will invest in 4-8 startups per year. This means the firm could potentially invest a lot of money into a select group of startups.

Top VCs are looking for companies that show insider knowledge and a shared vision with the owner.

Roger Ehrenberg, Managing Partner at IA Ventures will be a panelist along with Aquiline Capital Partners Head of Financial Technology Vincenzo Laruffa at the BZ Fintech Awards.
