Rich said that his strategy for trading within the first hour of the market's open can be even more profitable on days when the overall market is declining.
"Down days I do the best, there's more volatility and movement of the herd going to one particularly strong stock," he explained. On days when the market is up, Rich said there is "less movement" and that it is "tougher [to] make money on the up days."
Regardless of the overall market, his strategy is to play one stock at a time near market-open and then close the position in the first hour.
