Direxion Daily Gold Miners Bull 3X Shares (NYSEARCA: NUGT) lost 6.56% on Thursday as Barrick Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE: ABX) fell 3.11%, and AngloGold Ashanti Limited (ADR) (NYSE: AU) slipped 2.38%.
United States Natural Gas Fund, LP (NYSEARCA: UNG) plunged 6.16% as natural gas continued its downtrend. UNG closed at $5.03, and it had a volume of 43.20M traded shares.
Claymore/MAC Global Solar Index (ETF) (NYSEARCA: TAN) fell 5.97% today, and it closed at $2.99. In the space, First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ: FSLR) dropped 9.98%, and Trina Solar Limited (ADR) (NYSE: TSL) lost 15.60%. Solar companies traded lower today on the announcement that Germany will cut solar subsidies.
Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares (NYSEARCA: SOXL) dropped 5.91%, and in the semiconductor space, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE: AMD) spiked 4.19%.
