The history tab in Pixlr is a quick and easy way to access projects that you have previously worked on. This is a great way to keep track of recent projects, but make sure you don’t clear the history tab until you no longer need any previous projects. Once you clear the tab, the images are gone forever. 

As a reminder, Pixlr has a message at the top of the history page reminding users that Pixlr only offers temporary storage. Once you have cleared the cache or done any sort of cleaning routine on the browser, your previous work will disappear. That being said, you can save your projects by downloading them as PXZ files. 

Since Pixlr is designed with social media creators in mind, the platform comes with templates that are optimized for images of shapes and sizes. From Instagram and Twitter to Facebook and Pinterest, you can crop and edit photos so that they are perfectly sized for every platform. 

There is more to photo editing templates than image sizes alone. In addition, Pixlr gives users access to a multitude of templates no matter the size of the images. This helps users create content more easily because templates can help expedite the process. 

Pixlr has two subversions that are available to free users. Pixlr X is focused on creating quick edits and transforming your images using any of the available templates. Pixlr X is completely free for users and it comes with an array of fantastic templates. 

Pixlr E is all about detailed edits. You can use E to remove features in the background and create crisp lines whenever you cut out objects from the original image. Just like X, Pixlr E is completely free to use and it is available via web browsers. 

If you want to enhance your photos, you can add stock images from the Pixlr library. With a free account, you will be limited in terms of how many elements and images you have access to, but you can always import your own materials.

The glitch feature is perfect for adding an edge to your images and controlling off the viewer’s perspective. You can customize nearly every aspect of the glitches in an image. 

With the blurring tool, you can blur aspects of your photos in one of 3 ways: linearly, symmetrical, and tilted. All 3 blurring options have their own special settings, making it possible to finetune the blurring elements in a way that adds dramatic effects and the main focus to your images. 

When you implement the dispersion tool, you will be able to make any objects look like they are disintegrating. It’s a great way to add flair to your images. Plus, you can customize the intensity of the dispersion feature, so you can control how far apart the particles are. 

If you want to remove the background of an image but you are not quite sure how to go about doing so, Pixlr has a whole section dedicated to removing the background of images. With Pixlr BG, you can import an image and the program will automatically remove what it considers to be the background. The best part about Pixlr BG is that it is entirely free. 

If BG doesn’t perfectly remove the background of your image, you can make adjustments to the automatic feature. You can either erase more of the image than the tool automatically got rid of or you can undo certain deletions that the tool removed on its own.
