US stock futures are slightly higher this morning, as investors are awaiting earnings reports from many companies. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 10 points to 12,150.00 and futures on the S&P 500 stock index rose 1.30 points to 1,302.40. Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.25 point to 2,290.25.
A Peek Into Global Markets
Positive sentiment ruled the European markets today. While STOXX Europe 600 Index has gained 0.74%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.67%.
Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropping 1.21%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 falling 1.44% and China's Shanghai Composite declining 1.92%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell 1.30%.
Broker Recommendation
Analysts at Piper Jaffray upgraded Mattel Inc (NASDAQ:
MAT) from “neutral” to “overweight.” The target price for Mattel has been raised from $27 to $33.
Mattel shares fell 2.09% to close at $26.24 yesterday.
