Referring to the prospects of "Scale-up" apps versus "Scale-out" apps, Global Equities Research’s Trip Chowdhry said that their research indicated that “the future is Scale-Out Apps.” He mentioned that these apps witness hyper-growth, while scale-up apps would see zero growth.
IOT by salesforce.com, inc. CRM is a scale-out app, while AWS by Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN “is ideal for this Application,” Chowdhry commented. He added that there were only two SuperClouds, one being Amazon’s AWS and the other was Azure by Microsoft Corporation MSFT. Together these have a 95 percent market share.
The other Cloud players, including Google Cloud [Alphabet Inc GOOGL], IBM Softlayer [International Business Machines Corp. IBM], Oracle Could [Oracle Corporation (NYSE: ORCL] and RackSpace [Rackspace Hosting,RAX], would compete for the remaining 5 percent of the market, Chowdhry stated.
