Bridgewater Bank Launches New Cash Back Mastercard Program

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Dec. 1, 2011) - Bridgewater Bank today unveiled its new cash back MasterCard suite, designed to capture the popularity of cash as a loyalty reward for consumers.

"Bridgewater Bank is thrilled to provide Canadian consumers with a new option when it comes to finding the right credit card to meet their needs," said Peter O'Neill, chief operating officer, Bridgewater Bank. "These new cash back cards are a great example of Bridgewater Bank's ability to create competitive products and expand its product offering."

The Bridgewater Bank Premium, No Fee and Low Rate cards reward cardholders with cash back on every eligible purchase to be enjoyed with no black-out periods. Like Bridgewater Bank's other MasterCard products, these cards are also 99 per cent biodegradable in a compostable environment. Bridgewater Bank and its card supplier, CPI Card Group, recently won a Canadian innovation award recognizing this accomplishment. The cards also have features such as the most secure chip and pin technology, SecureCode to prevent fraud when shopping online and PayPass for quick-pay flexibility.

"Our new Bridgewater Bank MasterCard program can be summed up in two words: flexible and simple," says Scott Sanders, director of Card Solutions with Bridgewater Bank. "Our premium card offers a rich insurance program, and the No Fee and Low Rate cards, unlike many others in the market, offer cash back rewards too. Cash is king!"

One year ago, the bank launched a co-branded credit card with the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) becoming the exclusive provider of CAA MasterCard to eight of the nine CAA clubs. Bridgewater Bank is committed to developing additional white label card opportunities with strong co-brand partners.

Bridgewater Bank, a schedule 1 chartered bank, manages a portfolio of over $3.5 billion in residential mortgages, savings solutions and MasterCard products. Operating since 1997, Bridgewater Bank's main office in Calgary, Alberta has over 200 employees proudly serving more than 66, 000 customers across Canada. Bridgewater Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Alberta Motor Association (AMA). For more information, visit www.bridgewaterbank.ca.
