Forex - EUR/USD up toward the end of U.S. session

Forexpros – The Euro was higher against the U.S. Dollar on Thursday after the release of U.S. data on Initial Jobless Claims.

EUR/USD was trading at 1.4400, up 1.30% at time of writing.

The pair was likely to find support at 1.4015, Monday’s low, and resistance at 1.4417, today’s high.

Earlier in the day, official data showed that U.S. Initial Jobless Claims rose more-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted 418K last week from 408K in the preceding week whose figure was revised up from 405K.

Analysts had expected Initial Jobless Claims to rise to 408K last week.

Meanwhile, the Euro was up against the British Pound and the Japanese Yen, with EUR/GBP gaining 0.32% to hit 0.8830 and EUR/JPY rising 0.79% to hit 112.86.
