Video: Tesla Gigafactory Texas Already Under Construction

During the second-quarter earning's call, Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk talked about the company's latest factory being built in Austin, Texas. Construction on this factory starts while the company's Gigafactory Berlin is still being built.

A new video has surfaced from someone near the construction site of the new factory. The drone footage shows the land is cleared and work is happening at a fast pace. The videographer notes this progress has all been made in as little as one week.

Gigafactory Texas is expected to produce Tesla's Cybertruck, along with the Model 3, Model Y and Tesla Semi.

Benzinga's Take: Tesla factories seem to go up in record time, with Gigafactory Shanghai delivering the first vehicles less than one year after the start of construction. Tesla's Cybertruck is expected to sell to first customers starting by the end of 2021. If this factory can match pace with Shanghai, Tesla may deliver early on their Cybertruck timelines, much like they did with the Model Y.
