Midway through the afternoon Monday, the Dow was down about 0.35 percent, or roughly 46.97 points. The NASDAQ also fell, down about 0.45 percent, or about 14.38 points. The S&P was dropping as well, trading down 0.40 percent, falling 5.87 points.
Onyx Pharmaceuticals continued its Monday rally, up 4.98 percent to around $80.49, still above its 52 week high.
Jazz Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:
JAZZ) also continued its Monday rally, trading up 14.24 percent, around $54.97 following a favorable legal decision late Friday afternoon.
BioFuel Energy rallied as well, up 15.73 percent, trading around $10.39 following new EPA rules on bio-diesel fuels.
Shares of Netflix (NASDAQ:
NFLX) fell Monday, trading down 5.72 percent around $57.06 as investors continue to fear Apple's entry into the internet radio market.
Shares of Youku took a beating Monday as they fell 9.50 percent, trading down around $18.91.
The Empire State Manufacturing Index was released today and came in at -10.41, far below the estimated -2.00.
In tech news, shares of Apple (NASDAQ:
AAPL) continue to hover near the $700 dollar mark following an announcement by the company that it had sold 2 million iPhone 5's in the first day of its release. Shares of Apple traded up 0.85 percent around $697.13.
