THC-Infused Drinks, Gummies, Candy Coming Soon To Your Front Porch Via DoorDash

Zinger Key Points

DoorDash Inc DASH will soon deliver a variety of hemp-derived THC and CBD edible products in certain states, the last-mile food delivery service announced on Thursday.

“This expansion comes as a growing number of people seek new products to enjoy while they relax and decompress,” noted the company in a press release. “According to a Harris Poll survey of U.S. adults aged 21-65, nearly 75% of those looking to de-stress in 2025 are considering incorporating THC/CBD products into their routine, with 75% also considering participating in Dry January this year.”

Customers will be able to order cannabis products from various merchants, such as DashMar, which is DoorDash’s fulfillment platform and store, which offers “businesses a new channel to reach customers locally.”

Hemp-Based Products Included

In order to help customers find hemp-based products, DoorDash has added what it calls “an easily shoppable page" featuring hemp-derived products and non-alcoholic beverages.

"With the growing demand for hemp-derived THC and CBD products, we’re excited to expand access to a wide selection of products consumers crave," said Jacob Morello, director and general manager of Alcohol and Emerging Categories at DoorDash.  "As preferences evolve, DoorDash can now help eligible customers find new products to safely enjoy while they unwind and recharge in the new year."

Daily Marijuana Consumption Outpaces Alcohol Use

For the first time ever, the number of Americans who consume cannabis on a nearly daily basis has surpassed the number of people who drink with the same frequency, according to a new study published in late May in the journal Society for the Study of Addiction – a shift some 40 years in the making. No surprise as recreational marijuana use is now legal in some form in nearly half of all U.S. states. Though a surprising piece of data in the study noted that since 1992, the per capita rate of daily cannabis consumption in the U.S. has increased nearly 15 times over.

By 2022, an estimated 17.7 million people reported using marijuana daily or near-daily compared to 14.7 million daily or near-daily drinkers, according to the data.

DoorDash, meanwhile, is offering its customers weed-based drinks, mints, chocolates, and honey sticks.
