Unity Software Inc. (NYSE:U) disclosed the development of Survival Kids, a day-one release title for the Nintendo Switch 2.

This game was created in close collaboration with Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. and built entirely on Unity 6 for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Survival Kids marks Unity’s first full end-to-end game design and development in collaboration with a publisher partner.

This project allowed the Unity team to enhance the engine’s performance and stability.

The game utilizes various Unity capabilities, including core engine features like URP and Netcode, as well as live services such as Lobby and Relay.

The game represents a significant partnership between KONAMI and Unity, blending traditional survival gameplay with modern innovations.

Featuring new co-op mechanics and multiplayer functionality, Survival Kids stays faithful to its original concept while evolving for today’s gaming audience.

Adam Smith, VP of Unity Engine Product Management, said, “The opportunity to develop Survival Kids with KONAMI has been an invaluable experience, giving us insights that will help us keep improving the performance and stability of the Unity Engine for all our customers.”

“Testing of our own technology aligns with a recent shift in our development approach to ensure our tools are production-tested first so game developers can confidently create beautiful games that run smoothly.”

Yesterday, the company announced that it will officially support Nintendo Switch 2. The game will soon be available in Unity 6 as an add-on for approved Nintendo developers.

Investors can gain exposure to the stock via iShares Trust iShares Future Metaverse Tech and Communications ETF (NYSE:IVRS) and VanEck Video Gaming and eSports ETF (NASDAQ:ESPO).

Price Action: U shares are down 12.8% at $18.22 at the last check Thursday.
