RTX Corporation's (NYSE:RTX) business, Collins Aerospace, on Wednesday, inked a six-year renewal agreement with the Heathrow Airline Operators' Committee.
The deal entails continued providing its ARINC cMUSE solution across all four terminals at London-Heathrow Airport. The next-generation common-use passenger processing system (CUPPS) supports over 80 airlines.
It enables flexible check-in and boarding by dynamically allocating desks and gates based on real-time demand, streamlining operations and enhancing the passenger experience.
Over the next five years, Collins Aerospace and Heathrow AOC also plan to collaborate on exploring and testing new technologies, including cloud and mobile solutions, to support Heathrow's future growth initiatives.
Nigel Wicking, Chief Executive of the Heathrow AOC, said, "As the UK's Gateway to Growth, Heathrow is making investments to transform our current infrastructure to serve more passengers than ever before and it is vital that we leverage the most innovative technologies to keep our operations running smoothly."
We trust the Collins ARINC cMUSE solution will continue to help us optimize resources and offer quick and easy passenger processing tools that ultimately enable our airline customers to provide the best customer service possible."
Yesterday, Collins Aerospace disclosed that it enhanced its SelfServ platform, integrating check-in and bag drop into user-friendly kiosks.
Investors can gain exposure to the stock via the iShares U.S. Aerospace & Defense ETF (BATS:ITA) and the First Trust Exchange-Traded Fund First Trust Indxx Aerospace & Defense ETF (NYSE:MISL).
Price Action: RTX shares are up 1.20% at $121.88 at the last check on Wednesday.
