More Bang For Your Apple Buck: iPhone 15 Pro Max Costs The Same As Vision Pro Accessories Plus Support Plan

Apple’s Vision Pro mixed reality headset is now available on pre-orders at what some are calling a hefty price tag. But that's not all, Vision Pro accessories and support plan also look to be expensive.

What Happened: Apple Inc. AAPL revealed the prices of Vision Pro accessories, right from essentials like optical inserts for those who need prescription glasses, to the battery and travel case.

The most expensive Apple Vision Pro accessories are the Light Seal, Battery, and Travel Case – they cost $199 each.

All in all, Apple currently has ten accessories for the Vision Pro listed on its website.

We fired up the calculator and the total came up to $1,010.

In addition to this, the AppleCare+ support plan costs a hefty $499.

This brings the total cost of accessories and support plan to $1,510.

Even if buyers opt only for essential accessories like the battery, travel case, light seal, and optical inserts, along with the AppleCare+ plan, the total cost comes out to $1,200.

For the same price, you can buy the top-tier iPhone 15 Pro Max, which starts at $1,199.

Why It Matters: Apple Vision Pro is the next big thing from the Tim Cook-led company. Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already said that the demand for the Vision Pro has been "better than expected," estimating that the company has sold between 160,000 to 180,000 units of the mixed reality headset.

However, Kuo also cautioned about a possible dip in demand "because demand tapers off quickly after the initial sold-out."

"Mad Money" host Jim Cramer, too, thinks Vision Pro might not be everyone's cup of tea, saying that a $4,000 product might not have too many buyers.

"I just don't think people have $4,000 sitting around when you can buy a 60-inch TV at Walmart for $289," said Cramer, adding that the TV instead is an "amazing" purchase in contrast to the Vision Pro.
