Futuristic Marvel: XPeng Aeroht Wows CES With Flying Super Car Concept And Modular 'Land Aircraft Carrier' Update

XPeng Aeroht, the flying car subsidiary of Chinese automaker XPeng Inc XPEV, unveiled its flying supercar concept at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, featuring blue and white exteriors resembling a blue macaw.

Flying Supercar: The flying supercar showcases manipulator arms, rotor systems, and other flight features that can be folded and stored within the vehicle. Its cockpit seamlessly switches between land and flight modes, offering both driving and flying capabilities.

Modular Flying Car: XPeng Aeroht also provided updates on its modular flying car, nicknamed the ‘Land Aircraft Carrier.’

The two-part design consists of an aerial module and a ground module, with the ground module housing the aerial component for ground transportation.

The aerial module supports vertical take-off and landing, facilitating low-altitude flights through its electric propulsion system. It offers both manual and automatic driving modes. The ground module features an extended-range hybrid power system, accommodating 4-5 passengers with a three-axle, six-wheel configuration. XPeng mentioned during its Tech Day 2023 in October that the final design is still under development, hinting at possible changes.

Pre-orders for the vehicle are set to commence in the fourth quarter of this year in China, as announced by the company in a Wednesday post on X.

According to a report from Electrek, the vehicle is expected to enter mass production in 2025, with an estimated price in the one million yuan ($140,764) segment.
