Notion Unveils AI-Assisted Q&A Feature Starting At $8

In an effort to streamline information retrieval in contemporary workspaces, Notion is launching a new feature, Q&A. This AI-assisted tool, likened to a virtual executive assistant, is set to revolutionize the user experience on Notion.

What Happened: Notion, the widely-used note-taking app, is adding a new feature called Q&A to its suite, reported The Verge. The tool, acting like an AI executive assistant, enables quick and efficient retrieval of information stored on Notion.

The Q&A feature, accessible to all Notion users at a cost of $8 to $10 per month, is described by CEO Ivan Zhao as a fusion of search engine and chatbot. It excels in answering specific questions or sourcing general data related to a subject, all the while ensuring that the information provided is linked back to Notion pages for accuracy.

The AI-driven tool can also handle more complex queries. For instance, when Zhao asked for a list of recent articles by a specific author, the Q&A feature responded with relevant links. It also correctly answered a question about companies the author hadn’t recently covered.

Though the tool can currently only access information within the Notion database, Zhao said that the company is looking into ways to expand the data it can connect to.

The feature also solves access and permission issues by giving different levels of access to different users. This was demonstrated by Zhao when he queried for sensitive information, which was only disclosed when he was logged in as CEO.

Notion’s existing AI tools have been well-received since their introduction. With the launch of Q&A, Zhao hopes to further address the challenge of managing the vast amount of information in today’s digital world.
