Mercedes-Benz Teams Up With Buc-ee's To Roll Out Premium EV Charging Hubs Across US

German automaker Mercedes-Benz Group AG‘s MBGAF North American charging network development arm has teamed up with popular travel center chain Buc-ee’s to set up superior EV charging stations across the U.S..

What Happened: Mercedes-Benz HPC NA is set to build charging hubs at various Buc-ee’s locations across the country. The project is expected to kick off and touch about 30 stations by the close of 2024. Several hubs are already under construction, with some projected to be up and running by the end of this year.

"Within a remarkably short period, we’ve made significant strides towards opening several charging hubs at Buc-ee’s travel centers. Buc-ee's strategic locations along major travel routes, combined with their commitment to clean and accessible amenities, aligns perfectly with our vision. Together, we're not only providing exceptional value but also redefining the EV charging experience for drivers nationwide," Mercedes-Benz HPC NA CEO Andrew Cornelia said.

"Buc-ee's values people and partnerships," stated Buc-ee's General Counsel Jeff Nadalo. "Our new collaboration with Mercedes-Benz HPC North America will continue our traditions of elevated customer convenience and excellent service that have won the hearts, trust, and business of millions in the South for more than 40 years."

Why It Matters: Buc-ee’s has travel centers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee. They have also broken ground on several other locations.

Setting up charging infrastructure at these centers equipped with other amenities like highway rest facilities and food and placed along major transit routes will enable better charging experience to EV customers.
