From Allies To Critics: 24 Former Trump Aides Who Switched Sides

Two dozen of Donald Trump‘s erstwhile allies and aides have publicly opposed him, marking a significant turn in U.S. politics.

According to a detailed report by CNN, the numerous individuals who were once close associates and allies of Trump, including former White House personnel, military officials, and members of his legal team, have either criticized him publicly or have turned against him politically.

As per CNN, the ex-president’s potential 2024 GOP nomination and ongoing court cases could prompt more individuals to voice their dissent. This includes three individuals who are now vying against him in the presidential primary.

Retired Marine Gen. John Kelly, who served as Trump’s White House chief of staff for the longest duration, has openly condemned Trump’s leadership style. In addition to this, three former aides are currently running against Trump in the presidential primary.

Among the former aides who have spoken out against Trump are Mike Pence, his vice president, Bill Barr, his second attorney general, and James Mattis, his first secretary of defense. Other notable names include Rex Tillerson, his first secretary of state, Nikki Haley, his first ambassador to the United Nations, and Chris Christie, his presidential transition vice-chairman.

The report ends with a sobering statement from Cassidy Hutchinson, an aide to Trump’s final chief of staff, labeling Trump as “the most grave threat we will face to our democracy in our lifetime, and potentially in American history.”
