Cybertruck Auction Spurs Speculations: Delivery Event Set For Next Saturday?

Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles will be auctioning a Tesla Inc.’s TSLA Cybertruck at its annual gala in a week and the internet is abuzz with speculations on the delivery event.

What Happened: At its annual gala to be held on Oct. 7, Petersen Museum will auction a low-vin Cybertruck. The event will be hosted by car collector Jay Leno and offers bidders the option to be “one of the first to own a Tesla Cybertruck!”

While a seat at the gala is priced at $1,750, a table is priced at $17,500. A premier table is priced at $30,000 at the gala.

X Reacts: CEO Elon Musk has previously said that a delivery event for the Cybertruck will be held later this year. The auction has sent Cybertruck fans into a frenzy with many wondering at what price the auctioned vehicle would sell for and others wondering as to the date of the delivery event.

Now, several X users expect the delivery event to be announced on Oct. 6, a day before the auction. Several others expect the event to be “close.”

“CyberTruck unveiled oct 6th. That's all I hear,” a user wrote. Another user also predicted the event to be on Oct. 6 as it coincides with the release date of Blade runner 2049. The Cybertruck was initially inspired by Blade Runner and a vehicle in the James Bond film, “The Spy Who Loved Me.”

“WE'RE GOING TO THE GALA!,” another user wrote.
