Elon Musk To Visit US-Mexico Border In Texas This Week

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced plans to visit the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas, in response to escalating border security issues, The Hill reported.

Musk responded to a video shared on X, formerly Twitter, allegedly showing migrants traveling toward the U.S. atop a freight train.

“I spoke with Rep. Tony Gonzales [R-Texas] tonight – he confirmed that it is a serious issue. They are being overwhelmed by unprecedented numbers – just hit an all-time high and still growing! Am going to visit Eagle Pass later this week to see what's going on for myself,” he wrote.

Eagle Pass recently declared a state of emergency due to a “severe undocumented immigrant surge” from the southern border.

Last month, migrant encounters at the border increased by nearly 27%, as per the Customs and Border Protection data, with 232,972 people entering the U.S. without authorization.

Gonzales’s office confirmed the conversation with Musk and shared the congressman’s observations from his own visit to Eagle Pass.
