US Scrambles Fighter Jets As Civilian Aircraft Breaches Airspace Over Joe Biden's Vacation Spot

A civilian aircraft that breached temporarily restricted airspace over President Joe Biden‘s vacation location in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, led to a swift response from fighter jets on Friday.

What Happened: The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) launched two F-16 fighter jets and a U.S. Coast Guard aircraft to escort the intruding civilian aircraft out of the restricted zone around 7:50 a.m. Pacific time, The Hill reported.

The military aircraft dispensed flares to draw the civilian pilot’s attention. NORAD, however, assured that there was no threat to individuals on the ground.

Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications, confirmed that the airspace violation did not disrupt Secret Service operations. The incident did not affect President Biden and his family, who were vacationing in Lake Tahoe for the week.

Meanwhile, Biden commented on Donald Trump‘s mugshot, which has gained wide interest on the internet since its release on Thursday. When a reporter asked, “Have you seen Donald Trump’s mugshot yet?” Biden said, “I did see it on television.”

“Handsome guy,” he added.
