Former President Donald Trump might have an aggressive immigration plan ready for a potential 2024 term, Axios reports based on a scoop.
Trump’s 2025 vision includes screening immigrants for “Marxist” ideologies and implementing a naval blockade against drug smugglers. He aims to enforce U.S. laws that have historically blocked communists from entering, targeting those labeled “Marxists.”
The plan proposes the Coast Guard and Navy form a blockade of U.S. and Latin American waters to halt drug smuggling boats, escalating his 2020 show of force.
Trump’s “Muslim ban” could expand, blocking more individuals from specific countries. This ban was previously rescinded by President Joe Biden.
Drug cartels might be designated as “unlawful enemy combatants,” allowing the U.S. military to target them within Mexico.
Trump considers ending birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants, buoyed by the current conservative-leaning Supreme Court.
The plan also includes completing the border wall, which Biden halted, and swiftly deporting migrant criminals.
Trump adviser Stephen Miller expressed that the first 100 days would be “pure bliss” for those passionate about a secure immigration system.
However, the American Immigration Council’s Aaron Reichlin-Melnick warns of an “assembly line deportation machine.”
