Trump Will 'Finally See' What Being A Criminal Defendant In America Looks Like, Says Niece: 'Not Treated Like A Privileged White Man ...'

Zinger Key Points
  • Donald Trump has an Aug. 25 deadline for turning him into the Fulton County jail in connection with the Georgia election case.
  • The likely use of cameras inside the courtrooms in Georgia is going to have an enormous impact, his niece Mary Trump says.

Donald Trump and co-defendants are expected to turn themselves into Fulton County jail, called “Rice Street” by locals, and they will likely have their mugshots taken and be fingerprinted and subjected to medical examinations.

Ahead of the Aug. 25 deadline for the surrender, the former President's niece Mary Trump weighed in on how the Georgia election case is different from the previous three indictments.

Coming To Terms With Reality: It's probably getting harder for him to believe that he is going to have to face four indictments and 91 criminal charges across four separate criminal cases in multiple states, said Mary Trump in an interview with MSNBC on Sunday.

The problem thus far has been that he has been treated differently from other criminal defendants, Mary Trump, who also happens to be a psychologist and the host of the "Mary Trump Show" podcast said. Hopefully, that will change this week, she added.

“He will finally see what it looks like to be a criminal defendant in this country; who is not treated like a privileged white man with power,” Mary Trump said.

The likely use of cameras inside the courtrooms in Georgia is going to have an enormous impact, the podcaster said. She reasoned that even for people who are his supporters and who think that this is a miscarriage of justice, this will be must-see TV.

“And Donald has always told them not to believe their lying eyes, only to believe him,” Mary Trump said.

“However, when he’s the one they’re looking at, it’s going to be very difficult for him to spin away from what’s actually happening in front of our eyes. So I think it’s going to be monumentally important that there be cameras.”

Compelling Evidence Stacks Up: Mary Trump also said she was not surprised her uncle has been charged with Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, or RICO, in the Georgia case.

The evidence is so compelling, as the crimes have been committed in front of the people and there have been audio tapes and video recordings as well, she said.

Regarding the multiple people he has been charged along with him, the enablers, the co-conspirators, and co-defendants, Mary Trump said there are so many leverage points.

“There are so many potential weaknesses that will get the prosecutors even more quickly to getting cooperation against their main target, which, of course, is the head of this corrupt organization, Donald Trump,” she said.

The psychologist also concurred with the comment that Donald Trump will actually throw everyone but himself under the bus.

“Oh, we’re seeing it in real-time. It’s going to happen until he’s the last man standing,” she added.
