Google Search Now Has AI Grammar Check Tool For Mobile And Desktop Users: Here's How To Use It

Google has introduced a built-in grammar check tool within its search platform, allowing users to check sentences and phrases for grammatical accuracy on mobile and desktop. The new Google Search utility essentially aims to improve the writing experience for users and provide helpful suggestions for corrections.

The grammar check feature uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze language, ensuring grammatically correct sentences and phrases. While the tool is currently available exclusively in English, it promises to be a valuable resource for users seeking to improve their writing skills.

How To Use Google Grammar Check Tool: The grammar check tool is straightforward. Users can enter a sentence or phrase into the search bar along with relevant keywords such as “grammar check,” “check grammar,” or “grammar checker.” While appending these keywords is not mandatory, it guarantees that Google activates the tool for the search query.

While using the grammar check tool, if the sentence or phrase is error-free, the “Grammar Check” section will display a reassuring green checkmark as the first result. However, if grammatical issues are detected, Google will automatically rewrite the sentence and underline the changes made. The tool also corrects any spelling mistakes found in the text.

To make it easy to access and use, Google has directly integrated the grammar check tool into the search results page. Hovering over the corrected sentence version will reveal a “Copy” button, enabling users to incorporate the suggested improvements into their writing easily.

Note that the grammar check may be less than 100% accurate, especially with partial sentences, as highlighted by Google. To provide feedback or report any issues with the tool, users can click on the “Feedback” option located in the bottom-right corner. They can choose from various options such as “This is helpful,” “This isn’t relevant,” “Suggestion is incorrect,” or “Suggestion is offensive,” and also leave comments or suggestions.

However, Google has placed some restrictions on using the grammar check tool. It will not run for content that may violate Google Search’s overall policies or specific policies for Search features. This includes dangerous medical content, vulgar language, and profanity.

Previously, similar spelling and grammar checks were available on Gmail and Google Docs, but this latest implementation within Google Search stands out for its accessibility and prominence.

Why Is It Important: Overall, Google’s grammar check tool is set to be a valuable addition for users seeking to refine their writing skills and produce more polished and error-free content. Whether you’re a professional writer, student, or someone who communicates frequently online, this feature is designed to enhance your writing experience.
