Nothing Phone (2) Launched With Flashy Lights And Cleaner OS For $599

The much-hyped Nothing Phone (2) with flashy LED lights and a clean, near-stock Android experience has been launched starting at $599. This is the second smartphone from the Carl Pei-led company, and the first one to reach the US shores.

One of the key selling points of the Nothing Phone (2) is its LED lights on the back it calls the Glyph interface, with 33 lighting zones in total for deeper customization. It also comes with an updated skin that the company is calling Nothing OS 2.0, based on Android 13. While the company has retained most of the elements of stock Android, its touches are subtle across the operating system, including the widgets.

More Powerful Hardware: The Phone (2) features across-the-board hardware improvements – it has a slightly bigger 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. At the heart of the phone is the flagship-grade Qualcomm Inc. QCOM Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The primary camera on the back is a 50MP snapper with a Sony IMX890 sensor and optical and electric image stabilization. It is assisted by a 50MP ultrawide angle camera. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera, housed in the punch-hole notch in the center.

Powering the phone is a 4,700mAh battery with support for 33W wired and 15W wireless charging.

The Nothing Phone (2) price starts at $599 for the 8GB + 128GB version, while the 12GB + 256GB version will cost $699. The top-tier 12GB + 512GB version will cost $799.

Pre-orders for the Nothing Phone (2) are live today while open sales will begin on July 17.
