Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ: BLDP) shares are trading lower on Thursday.

The move is potentially due to Linde signing a memorandum of understanding with China National Offshore Oil Corporation to develop the hydrogen energy industry in China.

Ballard Power Systems is a clean energy growth company. The company is engaged in proton exchange membrane fuel cell development and commercialization. A fuel cell is an environmentally clean electrochemical device that combines hydrogen fuel with oxygen (from the air) to produce electricity.

Ballard Power Systems shares were trading down 4.06% at $17.36 on Thursday at the time of publication. The stock has a 52-week high of $21.61 and a 52-week low of $3.99.
