The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Nonmetallic Mineral Mining: This industry slipped 2.4 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Hongli Clean Energy Technologies Corp (NASDAQ: CETC), which fell 4.6 percent. Hongli Clean Energy Technologies shares have jumped 794.74 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has increased 11.75 percent in the same period.
  • Aerospace/Defense Products & Services: This industry declined 1.7 percent by 11:00 am with Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE: LMT) moving down 4.5 percent. Lockheed Martin shares have climbed 19.83 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has increased 11.75 percent in the same period.
  • Computer Peripherals: The industry dropped 1.6 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. (USA) (NYSE: MCZ), which declined 5.4 percent. Mad Catz Interactive shares have dropped 51.13 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has increased 11.75 percent in the same period.
